Three parts. You set it once.

A key layout says what every phone shows, in plain words. No key-by-key setup on each desk: pick a layout, and phones on it stay the same.

  1. 1

    The same on every phone

Line, parking spots, Night mode. At the same place on every phone that follows the layout, so nobody hunts for them.

  2. 2

    Each person’s own

Room for a speed dial or two. Added on that person’s phone, and they stay when the layout changes.

  3. 3

    Everyone in the office

Fills the keys that are left, one for each coworker, lit while they’re on a call. New people get one on their own.

A key layout in three parts: the keys the same on every phone with Change and move up and down, room for each person’s own keys, and a key for each coworker, by extension or by name
How it looks: the layout on a new phone’s screen, a page at a time, each part in its colour
  • Nothing gets lost. Add a key and the rest move down. An insert never replaces one.
  • A removed person keeps their spot. The key says Removed extension until someone deals with it.
  • One phone can go its own way. Give it its own layout, and it remembers where it came from so it can go back.

The front desk gets a sidecar.

Whoever transfers calls all day needs everyone in reach. A sidecar sits beside the phone with a lit key for each person: free or busy at a glance, and one press to send the call.

A Yealink T44W desk phone

Every phone, on one list.

What’s online, which lines it carries, and what its keys do, for desk phones, handsets, adapters and paging speakers alike. Owners and admins look after it from the portal.

Devices: a paging speaker, fax and phone adapters, desk phones and a DECT base, each with its lines, its key layout and whether it’s online
Everything set for this phone: its lines, keys, ringtone and the rest, and where each one is set
  • Two lines, one phone. A line for the person and another for the front desk, on the keys you choose.
  • Company settings, one exception. Ringtone, volume and the rest are set once. A phone can keep its own.
  • Where each thing comes from. Everything set for this phone says what’s set, and where.

Questions before you buy.

Can we use phones we already own?
Analog phones can plug into the Kafono adapter. For desk phones you already have, talk to us before you order.
Do we have to buy phones?
No. The app on phones and computers is enough for many teams, and you can mix them: a desk phone at the front, the app for everyone else.
Who sets up the keys?
Owners and admins, in the portal. Pick a layout and every phone on it shows the same keys, plus any of its own. Someone at the phone can still change its ringtone, volume and screen there.
Wi-Fi handset, or a cordless set?
Wi-Fi handsets need Wi-Fi everywhere they walk, and there’s no base to set up. The W79P Pro brings its own base, which plugs into your router and takes up to 10 handsets, so it works where Wi-Fi doesn’t reach.
What do they plug into?
A network cable that also carries power, or the wall. Yealink ships desk phones without a plug, so add one at checkout for $12 if your network doesn’t power them.
Does a desk phone ring alongside the app?
It can. A person’s line can ring their desk phone and their apps at once, and they answer on whichever is closest.

Put a phone where the calls are.

Check your business number, then choose your phones at checkout. Or skip them: the app is enough for many teams.
