How can we help?
Answers to what people ask most, from moving a number to setting up the receptionist. Still stuck? A person answers every message.
- Request sent to your old provider
- Your old provider said yes
- Moves to Kafono on Thursday
Trying Kafono
- Is there a contract?
- No. Pay month to month, and cancel any day before the 1st so you’re not charged again. There’s no fee to leave.
- Can I try Kafono first?
- Yes, with the 30-day money-back guarantee. Use it for real, and if it isn’t for you, every dollar comes back.
- What if it isn’t for me?
- Cancel with one click within 30 days of your phones first working, and every dollar comes back the same day. No questions, no call, and the phones go back free.
- Does moving my number cost anything?
- No. Moving every number you bring is free, and your old service keeps working until it’s done. You can start on a temporary number meanwhile.
Switching
- Do I need a new number?
- No, but you can have one. Pick it by area code or town on the number search, or at checkout.
- What do I need from my old provider?
- Your account number and, if they use one, a PIN or passcode. Both are usually on your bill or in your account online.
- Should I cancel my old service first?
- No. Cancelling first can lose the number. Keep it until we tell you the move is done.
Home phone
- Can I keep my phone number?
- Usually, yes. Type it into the number check and you’ll know before you pay. We do the moving, and your old service keeps working until it’s done.
- Will the phones I already have work?
- Yes. Most home phones, cordless ones too, plug into the Kafono adapter. If you’d rather have new ones, add a cordless set at checkout.
- Do I need the internet?
- Yes. Kafono calls travel over your home internet, and the app works over Wi‑Fi or mobile data.
- What about 911?
- Every line keeps the address you give at checkout, and a 911 call sends it, so help knows where to go.
- Can I stop the spam calls?
- Turn on call screening and unknown callers have to press 1 before your phones ring. You can also have callers say their name, and block any number for good.
Business phone
- Can my whole team share one number?
- Yes. Ring everyone at once, ring the front desk first, or line callers up in a queue that offers them a callback.
- Which phones can we use?
- Desk phones, cordless DECT handsets, the app on phones and computers, or a mix. Add them at checkout.
- Can we keep our main number and add more?
- Yes. Move the numbers you have and add new ones for people, departments or a fax line.
- We have more than 25 people. Is Kafono for us?
- Yes. Talk to us first, so we can plan the move and the phones with you.
AI receptionist
- What does the receptionist do?
- It answers when no one can, talks with the caller, takes the message and sends you a summary of what they wanted.
- Do I have to set it up?
- No. We set it up with your business’s details and how you like calls handled, then you adjust it as you go.
- Does it replace my staff?
- No. It picks up the calls your team can’t: after hours, at lunch, or when every line is busy.
The apps
- Which devices does the app run on?
- iPhone, Android and Mac. Your Kafono number rings in the app wherever you are.
- Does it use my cell minutes?
- The app calls over Wi‑Fi or mobile data, with your Kafono number as the caller ID.
- Why does the app store say Everyline?
- Kafono runs in the Everyline app for now. Sign in with your Kafono details and it’s all yours.
Online fax
- Do I need a fax machine?
- No. Send and receive faxes online, from the web or the app, and have them emailed as PDFs.
- Can I keep my fax number?
- Yes, like any other number. Check it with the number check and we move it for you.
- Can one number take calls and faxes?
- Yes. Kafono listens for a fax first: a fax goes to your fax box, and anything else rings your phones as usual.
- Who on the team can see our faxes?
- Everyone on the business account can see the fax history, send faxes, and download or delete the PDFs.
- Can we keep using our fax machine?
- Yes. Plug it into the Kafono adapter and it sends and receives as before, alongside email and the web.
