The whole floor hears it.

Dial a code from any desk phone, and your voice plays through every speaker in that group: the service bays, the lot, the warehouse, or all of them at once.

Horn speakers over the racks and the docks reach people on the move. Make the docks two-way, and someone can answer back.

Horns loud enough for the floor, and pages that skip phones on a call, so the office keeps talking.

Speakers in classrooms, the gym and the yard, and a PIN on the all-call, so only people with it can page the whole building.

The speakers on the wall.

A paging speaker signs in to the phone system like a phone, with an extension of its own, and answers a page by itself. Put it in a group with your desk phones, which play pages on their own speakers.

A group for every corner.

Name it, give it a code, and pick the phones and speakers it reaches. Staff dial the code to page.

The code
A star code like *56, or a number like 500.
How it sounds
One-way, or two-way so the paged phones can talk back.
A chime
Any recording from your audio files, played first.
How long
From 10 seconds to 5 minutes, then it ends by itself.
Caller ID
A short prefix, so a desk phone shows it’s a page.
The Shop floor paging group: its code *56, the phones it speaks through, one-way or two-way, and its options: a PIN, a chime and caller ID, how long a page lasts, and skipping phones on a call

Who pages, and who hears it.

  • Only your own phones page

A page starts from an extension on the account. A caller from outside can’t reach the speakers, even by transfer.

  • A PIN, if you want one

Put a PIN on a code, and only people who know it can page that group.

  • Calls aren’t interrupted

Phones already on a call are skipped, unless you turn that off for a group.

  • Do not disturb doesn’t stop it

The phone system doesn’t hold a page back for Do not disturb, and a page never follows forwarding.

  • On the iPhone, as a notification

The browser and the apps don’t play pages live. Turn on Pages in the iPhone app, and a one-way page arrives as a recording to play.

  • In call history

Every page is there: who paged which group, and who it reached.

Questions about paging.

Which speakers work?
The Algo 8186 horn speaker is in our device list, so you add it in Devices like a desk phone. Other paging speakers that sign in as a SIP phone, like Algo’s 8180 alerter, take an extension of their own and join a group the same way.
Can someone answer back?
Yes. Make the group two-way: the paged phones’ microphones open too, like an intercom.
How long can a page last?
You choose, from 10 seconds to 5 minutes. It ends when you hang up, or by itself at that limit.
Do desk phones play pages too?
Yes. A desk phone in a group answers by itself and plays the page on its speaker.
Can we play a tone first?
Yes. Pick any recording from your audio files as the group’s chime, and it plays before you speak.

Page the floor from any phone.

Check your business number in a few seconds. You’ll know it can come before you pay anything.
